Crisis
A crisis in mental health terms is considered when you feel you may be a harm to yourself or others. If you are thinking about or planning to harm yourself or someone else, you may be in crisis.
Listeners are not trained to deal with crisis situations, so if you are deemed a potential harm to yourself or others, they are required to end the chat and direct you to a hotline. This also includes ideational thoughts of suicide or harm to others. This is also true for topics that are better suited for a trained professional. Listeners are required to refer those to the therapy page and end the chat. Please cooperate with us to provide you with the right help you need.
